VMT is a result-oriented forward-thinking criminal defense investigation firm based in southern California that specializes in federal and state RICO, drug trafficking, street gang enhancment and homicide cases.  We utilize state-of-the-art technologies, such as VMT’s Issues Matrix Spreadsheet (IMS), a proprietary field investigation management tool to ensure a thorough and comprehensive approach to meet the client's needs in state and federal criminal cases.

 

Training Division

 

Over 30 years of experience in the field of criminal defense investigations has allowed us to provide training and mentoring to the legal community. VMT was recently certified by the California Bar Association to provide MCLE training to attorneys on California Penal Code Section 186.22 (a) and (b) Gang Enhancements.  VMT's Gang Enhancement Workshop examines changes to California’s Gang Enhancement statutes that now  permit defense counsel to bifurcate substantive charges from gang enhancement allegations, precludes reputational evidence, and narrow the use of non-client-specific predicate acts.   Moreover,  VMT's Gang Enhancement Workshop includes proven defense investigation strategies to challenge law enforcement gang allegations.
